Famous poetess who has been at the fore front of environment and feminist movement not only in kerala but all over India. Her poetic works had a special place for Mother Nature and developed on human relationships and emotions Smt Sugatha Kumari successfully led the agitation to save the silent Valley. She is the founder Secratary of Prakriti Samrakshana Samithi, an organization for protection of Nature and ABHAYA, a home for destitute women and mentally ill.

She was chairperson of Kerala State Women’s Commission.
